The 2008 Nationals in Greeley is over - it was a great site, the weather was wonderful, the food and entertainment was terrific, and we had a very good turnout. Congratulations to all the winners! Check out RESULTS! As we plan for next year, it’s important to thank all the USASA members who worked so hard to make 2008 a memorable event for all who attended. Orchestrating and managing an event of this size is over a year long effort. Huge thanks go to Terri Morgan and Sharon Parr who were responsible for the overall management of the show. Thanks go to Sharon Fontanini for managing the vendors, grooming spaces, logo items, raffle and auction, and especially ensuring all the Classes were sponsored! Thanks to Rick Morgan for producing wonderful trophies and for all his hard work, including the management of RV reservations, parking, and grounds. Thanks are also due our terrific and hard working event chairs - Becky Parker, Libby Graham, and Tina Bauhs. Becky Noe gets special notice for all her hard work on the grooming spaces, vendors, and the raffle. Anne Schmitt did a wonderful job on hospitality, making sure all the judges and show workers were well fed. Thank you, Vicki Lembcke, for arranging the banquet and hotels. Thanks go once again to Nadine Grady for handling Show Chair duties and also once again to Bob Grady, our Chief Ring Steward, who kept everything on track in the Conformation ring. Also deserving of thanks are Nannette Newbury, who supervised the Judges Education event, and Linda Wilson, who gave the presentation at a great Judges Education Seminar. We are grateful to C.A. Sharp and Kim Monti for all their efforts setting up and managing the Health & Genetics Events. The turnout for the blood draw and health screenings set a Nationals record! Paula Waterman provided another spectacular logo and then went “above and beyond”, making generous contributions of trophies as well as donating the original logo artwork to the art auction. Thanks to Frank Baylis for another great auction- all proceeds this year are dedicated to the Juniors Program. Finally, a big thank you must go to all the hard working, unnamed volunteers who helped set up rings and equipment, managed stock, stewarded, sold raffle tickets, cleaned up, and generally pitched in with all the things needed to run a show. We couldn’t do the Nationals without the commitment of our volunteers. |
